African Baobab

Adansonia digitata

Height: Up to 25m
Family: Malvaceae
Fruit: "Monkey Bread" - edible

Baobabs are huge trees both in height and circumference. They can be up to 11 metres in diameter and store water in their trunk to help them survive in drought conditions. They live for hundreds and possibly even thousands of years.

The leaves, fruit and seeds are all edible.
