Red-necked Spurfowl

Francolinus afer

Size: Up to 38 cms long
Habitat: Woodland, bush, thickets
Feeding: Seeds, insects

The Red-necked Spurfowl, also called the Red-necked Francolin, is a member of the pheasant family.

Its plummage is mostly brown with white and black markings. This bird can be identified by its bare red throat, eye patches and legs.
