Paradise Flycatcher

Terpsiphone viridis

Size: Up to 17 cms long, not including streamers
Habitat: Open forests and savannah
Feeding: Insects, beetles, caterpillars

The Paradise Flycatcher is an eye-catching passerine. Its head and body are black but its wings and tail are a bright rufous colour.

During the breeding season the tail of the male grows to more than double the lenth of its body.
