Greenshank

Tringa nebularia

Size: 32 cms long
Habitat: Marshes, swamps and wetlands
Feeding: Small invertebrates and fish

The Greenshank is a migratory wading bird which over-winters in Africa.

It is brown/grey in colour with white underparts. It has a long grey, slightly upturned beak and grey/green legs.

The Greenshank is very similar to a Marsh Sandpiper, but the Sandpiper is slightly smaller with a narrower beak.
