Greater Blue-eared Glossy Starling

Lamprotornis chalybaeus

Size: Up to 22 cms long
Habitat: Open scrub and woodland
Feeding: Insects and berries

The Greater Blue-eared Glossy Starling is a striking ground feeding bird which is often seen in large flocks.

Its plummage is irridescent blue/green with blue underparts. It has bright yellow/orange eyes. The sexes are similar.
