Bushbuck

Tragelaphus scriptus

Size: Up to 95cm high
Habitat: Woodland and bush
Feeding: Leaves, bark, fruit and grass

The Bushbuck is a medium-sized antelope which is mostly nocturnal.

It has a red/brown coat with a white throat, a white line across the chest and other small white markings on the rest of the body. The male has horns which consist of a single twist.

It is usually a solitary animal with a lifespan of about 12 years.
